Crew 3, Chivas USA 0 -- quote sheet

COLUMBUS CREW 3, CHIVAS USA 0

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH HANS WESTERHOF

On the game:
"We thought it was a new start, with Paco [Francisco Palencia], Loquito [Juan Pablo García] and Matute [Sergio García]. Our problem tonight was not lack of organization. ... [Columbus] won the game because when we made mistakes they were quick to capitalize on them."

On his team's play:
"We wanted to play our best game, but we made a lot of mistakes. At the beginning we were playing well, but at times, you need a little bit of patience and time to do the right thing on the field."

On starting newly signed goalkeeper Sergio 'Matute' García in place of regular starter Brad Guzan:
"I spoke to Brad and told him that we are happy because he is playing well, but we also believe that 'Matute' has an equal chance to be the starting goalkeeper and we wanted to give him this opportunity."

CHIVAS USA FORWARD ANTONIO MARTINEZ

On the game:
"We couldn't deliver tonight. We were coming back from two very good games, because we think we played very well against New York and Dallas, taking the lead in both games. We were unlucky in not getting those two wins. We came here and played a bad game in front of our fans. We were waiting for this game all month long, to show everyone what we can do with Paco and the rest of the new players. I think we all had a bad game tonight."

CHIVAS USA GOALKEEPER SERGIO GARCIA

On his MLS debut:
"I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. We played with lots of enthusiasm and lots of strength but didn't get the result we wanted."

On his chance to start:
"I have been working for this opportunity and if I get the chance to start again I will do my best not to let the coach or my team down."

COLUMBUS CREW HEAD COACH ROBERT WARZYCHA

On the game:
"You have to be happy; we won 3-0 away from home. I think Chivas played a decent game; we just caught them on the break. Fortunately for us, we created a few chances and we capitalized on them."

On John Wolyniec's play:
"He played an unbelievable game today. He was in the right place at the right time, scored two beautiful goals, and also I think every time he got the ball he did something good with it. He didn't lose the ball today and that was huge for us."

On Cornell Glen's play:
"Cornell, he's fast, and if he's into the game he can be very effective. Obviously today he was one of the best players on the field."

On the Crew's playoff hopes:
"The team is playing better and we're scoring the goals and that's what's important. Whether we get to the playoffs or not, that's another question. We would like to be winning game after game after game and see what happens next. The next game is against New England and it's the same priority, go and win it."

COLUMBUS CREW GOALKEEPER JONNY WALKER

On the game:
"I have to say it was a complete game. I thought we had a fantastic game plan, we came out and performed the best way we could, and we got some goals. You can't beat a 3-0 performance on the road, especially against a team that even though they're struggling in the table, obviously they're playing some very good football with some very good players."

COLUMBUS CREW FORWARD CORNELL GLEN

On the game:
"We knew we had to win today. Just came out and do what the coach wanted us to do and we got a good result. We played well, and we deserve it."

On the Crew's playoff hopes:
"We're only thinking about winning right now. We've got a long road trip, probably only a couple more games home, so we've just got to win. We can't think about losing or tying games, we've just got to win."
