The Clean Sheet: Not good enough

Brian Carroll

teams and media alike -- to recognize that this league's clubs can play.

GRAB A COLD BUD (OR AQUAFINA) AND PUT YER FEET UP:
WHAT I'LL BE WATCHING:

Saturday - CHIVAS USA at QUAKES (4 p.m. ET on The Deuce): Blowing a 2-0 lead was no way to start the post-Landon era, but the Quakes should beat a Chivas USA side that looks to be a bit offensively-challenged, and is already getting gobbled up by the injury bug.

Saturday - MANCHESTER UNITED at NORWICH CITY (Noon ET on Fox Soccer Channel): Tim Howard has his place back, but Sir Alex will still be shopping in the offseason. Crucial for Timmy to stay solid the rest of the way.

Wednesday - D.C. UNITED at PUMAS (9:30 p.m. ET on Fox Soccer Channel): Set the TiVo now, always fun to watch a game that matters this early in the domestic season.

FLICKS-ONS:

Took in the Chivas USA opener last weekend, and the atmosphere was fantastic. While the crowds will get bigger, it was a blast. You know the small-but-rabid supporters section of each MLS team? Take that and spread it all around the stadium -- that is what Saturday was like at The Home Depot Center.
