Chivas USA defeats Gauchos 2-0

CARSON, Calif. - With goals from former Kansas City Wizards players Matt Taylor and Francisco Gómez, Club Deportivo Chivas USA, Major League Soccer's new Los Angeles-based franchise, recorded a 2-0 victory over USL Second Division side San Diego Gauchos Wednesday night on Field Three at The Home Depot Center. Chivas USA thus tastes victory in its first scrimmage on U.S. soil.


Chivas USA will kick off MLS's 2005 season on Saturday, April 2 against defending MLS Cup champions D.C. United.
