Chivas USA invites their fans and media to come and watch the historical training session, with players of both Chivas Rayadas del Guadalajara and MLS' Chivas USA. The teams will train at The Home Depot Centers Track and field on Saturday October 8, at 10:00 a.m. The training session is in preparation for Sundays game between the Chivas Select Team (featuring players from Chivas Guadalajara and Chivas USA) and Santos Laguna, in a benefit match for the hurricane relief efforts by the American Red Cross in the Gulf Coast region. The match will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. PT at Harder Stadium on the Campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).
The Chivas Select Team training session will be directed by coaches Xabier Azkargorta and Hans Westerhof and will be open to fans with season tickets or for those fans who have already purchased their tickets for Chivas USA's 'Celebración del Pueblo' on October 16, at The Home Depot Center, when Los Tigres del Norte will perform following Chivas USA's last game of the season against the MetroStars, at 1:00 p.m.
Fans who wish to watch the training session will have to show proof that they have purchased a ticket for Chivas USA's last game of the season. They can purchase tickets at a special price of $15 on the training site, at The Home Depot Center's ticket office which will give them access to Saturday's training session and for the October 16, match as well as Los Tigres del Norte's postgame performance.
