FCdallas.net had the opportunity to sit down with Arturo Alvarez to ask him about the return to his home state and his expectations for next season with FC Dallas.
FCdallas.net:
How excited are you to return to your home state of Texas?
Arturo Alvarez:
"I am extremely happy. Ever since I first got drafted, I wanted to play close to home (Houston), and now Colin Clarke and FC Dallas are giving me the opportunity to do that. I can't wait to start the new season."
FCdallas.net:
What strengths will you bring to FC Dallas?
AA:
"I come to Dallas to give 100 percent in every match. I think that my style of play will help to spice up the offense. To be short, I will give everything I have every time that I step onto the field."
FCdallas.net:
What are your expectations for next season?
AA:
"Well, my goal is to have a great preseason and earn a spot in the starting lineup. I haven't been able to play a lot of minutes the past two seasons, but I believe that I am ready to be a starter in this league."
FCdallas.net:
How would you describe yourself as a player?
AA:
"I am an offensive-minded player whose strengths are my quickness and skill. I am the type of player that wants to have the ball on his feet and create chances on the attacking midfield."
FCdallas.net:
Have you heard about the new stadium in Frisco?
AA:
"Yes, I've heard about it and I've also seen pictures on FC Dallas' website. I am really excited about it. In San Jose I didn't have the chance to play in a soccer specific stadium and I will have that opportunity with FC Dallas. I think that having our own stadium with the 17 youth fields will make our club even more professional, just like clubs in Europe or Latin America. I am very much looking forward to opening day."
FCdallas.net:
Is there anything that you would like to say to your new fans with FC Dallas?
AA:
"I would like to tell them that I am eager to be in Dallas and be part of this team. I will make sure that I will give my best effort every minute and that we will do everything in our power to bring a championship to Dallas."
