PRONUNCIATION: pay

Over the course of his college career at the University of Washington, Taylor Peay gradually established a reputation as a pugnacious defender and a capable passer out of the back in Jamie Clark’s three-man backline setup. After getting limited playing time in MLS Peay became a big contributor for the Real Monarchs in 2017, helping to lead them to the best record in USL. He could fit in at right back or center back for Mike Petke at RSL.

OUTSIDE MLS: Peay played in 21 matches for the Monarchs in 2017, making 18 starts. A versatile defender who has played both as a right back and a center back, Peay helped the USL club to a historic year with two goals and one assist in addition to his veteran defensive presence in a season that saw the Monarchs break several USL records.

COLLEGE: Peay was an important member of one of the best Huskies teams in recent memory. From 2010-2013, he started 56 matches and became just the third player in program history to garner First Team All-America honors as a senior in 2013.
