HOW ACQUIRED: Dallas selected Hollingshead with the 20th (2nd round) overall pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft.
A versatile, technical, attack-minded player who made FCD's left back spot his own in 2015 after Oscar Pareja converted him from a midfield role. Hollingshead's versatility continued to serve him well in 2016, where he continued to cover at both fullback spots while occasionally serving as an impact player off the bench. Hollingshead missed the first part of the 2017 season after suffering three fractured vertebrae in his neck when he stopped to assist a motorist in a winter storm in January and was struck by a passing car.
Hollingshead elected to step away from the sport for a year after Dallas selected him in the SuperDraft, doing missionary work in Haiti and fulfilling a promise to his brother Scott to help him build a church in their native Sacramento. He returned to soccer and signed with FCD in December of that year, and appeared in 11 MLS matches in 2014.
COLLEGE: Starred at UCLA, where he earned All-American and Pac-12 Player of the Year honors in 2012.
NOTES: Hollingshead is the second-youngest of four brothers; his older brother Scott also played soccer at UCLA.
