HOW ACQUIRED: Acquired in a trade with the New York Red Bulls on February 23, 2007. Re-signed to a multi-year contract on Jan. 23, 2018.
Perhaps the best goalkeeper in MLS history, Rimando has racked up more than 430 career regular-season appearances and is still going strong. Rimando is relatively small for a ‘keeper – he’s just 5-foot-9 – but he’s excellent in every phase of the game. He’s a great shot-stopper, has excellent command of his box, has the foot skill of a field player and is an absolute legend when it comes to stopping penalty kicks.
INTERNATIONAL: A member of the US national team at the 2014 World Cup, Rimando has 22 career caps with the USMNT, including major tournaments like the Gold Cup and FIFA World Cup.
COLLEGE: Rimando played two years at UCLA, leading the Bruins to the College Cup title during his freshman year in 1997.
