Juan Arbelaez

Arbelaez, 22, started 20 of 21 games in 2012 for Virginia Commonwealth University, earning four assists. He joined the Rams in 2011 following two seasons at Georgia Permiter College.

2011/JUNIOR AT VCU

• Made 17 appearances for the Rams in 2011
• Finished the season with three points (one goal, one assist)
• Scored the game-winning goal at Georgetown to seal overtime victory

PRIOR TO VCU 

• Transferred from Georgia Perimeter College, where he played for head coach Marc Zagara.
• Scored eight goals and collected 11 assists as a freshman, helping lead GPC to a national runner-up finish.
• Received All-Region recognition in 2010
• Was a member of the Alianza Soccer Club, under the direction of Carlos Jacinto and Sergio Magana.
• Played high school soccer at West Hall, finishing his career with 51 goals and 70 assists.
• Named Area Player of the Year as a senior
• Mountain Cup champion in 2007 and 2009
• MVP Mountain Cup in 2009
• 2009 Gainesville Times Player of the Year
