John Berner

Option declined following 2017 season.

Berner is an up-and-coming goalkeeper who has MLS game experience. Used mostly as a reserve so far in his MLS career, Berner has also gotten competitive minutes on the USL level.

OUTSIDE MLS: Made 17 appearances in 2015 for the Rapids' USL affiliate Charlotte Independence and 21 appearances for the club in 2016.

COLLEGE: Was a starter at SIU-Edwardsville in 2012-13. He was named Missouri Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Year both seasons, as well as First Team All-MVC honors in 2012.

NOTES: The St. Louis native also played baseball and hockey in high school.
