Team leader and offensive star for Fairleigh Dickinson after first starring at NJIT.

What Scouts Say: "Excellent, left-footed player ... Athletically leaves a little to be desired, but in terms of soccer IQ he's excellent ... In tight areas he's very good. Delivers a great free kick and can be very dangerous around the box on dead balls ... He is the free-to-roam midfielder in a group of three-man central midfielders (4-5-1) ... He wouldn't work in a 4-4-2 ... Running from central position into channels was strength ... Can join the attack and drop in midfield to combine ... Didn't have defensive responsibilities ... Good passer of the ball and good range of passing (short, long and mid) ... His one knock is the lack of athleticism: Doesn't have great pace, isn't a great athlete, but a great soccer player ... Doesn't have acceleration or change of pace and because of this he has to be a central player ... Where can he play in MLS if not given that free role? ... Not sure how he would adapt to become a grinder and do dirty work type of stuff in MLS ... He doesn't have the pace to beat anybody on the flank and doesn't have the work rate ... He's not doing anyone off the dribble out left and if you played him on the right I don't think he has engine to get up and down."

College (NJIT and Fairleigh Dickinson): After two seasons at NJIT, including a 2010 campaign in which he led the team in goals (5), he moved to Fairleigh Dickinson for two years. Came in with a bang in 2011, earning first-team All-NEC honors leading FDU in virtually every offensive category (7 goals and 4 assists). He was first-team All-NEC again in his 2012 senior season (6 goals and 5 assists) and led the team in its dramatic NCAA tournament run to the third round.

Club: St. George’s AFC and played PDL for New Jersey Rangers in summer 2011 ... Ranked in the top 15 in the PDL for goals and assists

High School: St. Ninian’s ... Played central midfield from 2005 to 2008... Won School Shield in 2007.

Personal: Son of Peter and Janet Maynard ... Has two brothers, Scott and Cameron ... Sports Administration major.
