RBNY midfielder Dru Yearwood suspended additional 3 games
Major League Soccer has issued an additional three-match suspension to New York Red Bulls midfielder Dru Yearwood, as announced Friday.
• First MLS game - vs Philadelphia Union, 9/6/2020
• First MLS start - at D.C. United, 9/12/2020
• First MLS assist - at Orlando City SC, 7/3/2021
• First MLS goal - vs DC United, 9/11/2021
2022: MLS: Played in 25 matches this season...totaling 1,522 minutes played...scored two goals and tallied one assist...recorded his first goal of the season against Austin FC on July 24. Open Cup: Played in three Open Cup matches this season...recorded his first career Open Cup assist on May 10 against D.C. United.
2021: MLS: Started 18 of 29 matches this season... recording 1697 minutes played... tallied his first career MLS assist on July 3 against Orlando City SC... scored his first career MLS goal on September 11 against D.C. United... ended the season with one goal and two assists. Playoffs: Started and played 116 minutes against Philadelphia Union on Nov. 20. USL: Played and started in four matches... totaling 325 minutes played.
2020: Made eight starts in 12 appearances in his first MLS season ... recorded 612 minutes played. Playoffs: Made his first MLS Cup Playoffs started and played 51 minutes versus Columbus Crew SC on Nov. 21.
PRIOR TO NEW YORK
Spent almost a decade in the Southend United youth system before being called up to the first team in the Summer of 2017 at 17 years old. The Harlow, England native made his Southend United senior team debut in the English Football League Cup on August 8, 2017 against Newport County and then earned his first League One appearance on September 2 against Rochdale.
Recorded 61 appearances across all competitions with Southend United in two seasons and earned a call up to England’s Under-18 squad in the Summer of 2018. The 20-year-old English midfielder then earned a contract with Brentford F.C., an EFL Championship squad, on August 5, 2019. Yearwood made five appearances across all competitions with the Bees.
The New York Red Bulls have transferred Dru Yearwood from Brentford F.C. Yearwood will be a Young Designated Player and occupy an international roster slot.
