MLS:

2009: Started all 22 of his appearances for Kansas City. Scored first MLS goal against the San Jose Earthquakes on April 5, 2009, and added another against the New England Revolution two months later. Finished season as the top-scoring defender on the team.

2008: Started and played in 14 matches to put his career playing time just over 1,500 minutes. Battled Tyson Wahl for a starting spot the entire season. Also played in 5 reserve matches, contributing 1 assist against the New England Revolution in a 3-0 victory.

2007: Drafted 1st round (3rd overall) in 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft. Appeared in 5 games (4 starts) as a rookie and played in 9 games (all starts) for the reserves.

NATIONAL TEAM: Trained with U.S. U-23 team after 2007 MLS season. Toured internationally in Mexico, France and Japan while playing for Region 2 ODP squad.

COLLEGE: Played collegiate soccer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2003-2006. Played in 77 games and recorded 6 goals and 7 assists. Was team captain junior year, co-captain senior year. Was twice named first-team All-Big 10 and twice second-team All-Big 10. Named third-team All-American as a senior. Also played with the Princeton 56ers in the National Premier Soccer League.

YOUTH: Played for the Madison 56ers Soccer Club for 6 years.

PERSONAL: Married wife Melinda in January 2009. Majored in history at Wisconsin. Older brother Jed also played with him in college. Loves dogs and enjoys watching movies, Wheel of Fortune, reading, and playing Xbox when off the field. In the future, Hohlbein would like to travel the world.
