American Exports: Miller, Halmstads stuck in basement

AMSTERDAM — Ryan Miller and Halmstads BK remain glued to the Allsvenskan bottom after dropping a 2-1 home decision to Swedish top-flight leaders Helsingborgs on Monday night.

The Chicago-area native retained his place in central defense, seeing his first yellow of the season near the half hour.

The hosts had to make do with just a last-minute consolation goal after surrendering the first brace scored by Helsingborgs defender Peter Larssen since he did the deed playing for HBK in April 2008.

The result dealt Halmstads their fourth loss from a six-game winless slide, leaving them with just seven points a game shy of the season's halfway mark.
