SPT TV to air four Red Bulls matches in 2009

SECAUCUS, NJ- Red Bull New York announced today that it has reached an agreement with SPT TV (Portuguese Broadcast Company) based in Newark, NJ, to air four Red Bulls matches, on a tape delay basis. In addition, SPT TV has created the Red Bull Skybox show featuring pre-game, half-time and post-game coverage regarding the team and Red Bull Arena, the new home of the Red Bulls set to open in 2010.

The first broadcast is Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at 9 p.m. featuring the Red Bulls win on August 30 against Columbus at Giants Stadium. The remaining three matches will also be aired on Tuesday evenings following the remaining Red Bulls home matches. The remaining telecast schedule is as follows: Tuesday September 15 (v. Kansas City Wizards), Tuesday, September 22 (v. New England Revolution), and Tuesday, October 27 (v. Toronto FC). All telecasts are set for 9:00 pm ET.

The Red Bulls matches in Portuguese can be seen in the Metropolitan New York area on Comcast (Channel 697) and Cablevision (Channel 276) cable systems.

For the four 2009 matches, Jorge Lucio will handle the play-by-play and Mario Filipe Marques will serve as the analyst. Lucio is a former RDP journalist (Portuguese Radio Broadcaster in Portugal) for the sports news segments as well as the play-by-play voice for SPT TV's Premier League telecasts from Portugal. Marques has been a program host for SPT TV for the past 15 years, hosting a variety of talk shows, news programs and live news segments for SIC and TVI.
