Stuart Holden scored in the 39th minute of the Dynamo Reserves' victory over the FCD Reserves.

Dynamo Reserves breeze to 3-0 win

The Houston Dynamo Reserves rolled to a 3-0 victory over FC Dallas Wednesday morning at the adidas Field at Pizza Hut Park in an MLS Reserve Division make-up game. Kyle Brown, Stuart Holden, and John Michael Hayden tallied goals for the Dynamo.

Houston goalkeeper Tony Caig made a key early save on an Abe Thompson header to keep the game scoreless. The Dynamo then took the lead in the 26th minute when defender Stephen Wondolowski sent a long ball up the right side of the field to Brown, who cut into the penalty box and calmly slotted a shot past goalkeeper Ray Burse for his MLS Reserve Division-leading eighth goal of the season.

The Dynamo added to their lead 13 minutes later when Stuart Holden connected on a diving header from the top of the six-yard box after a long throw-in from Geoff Cameron.

The Dynamo wrapped the game up in the 84th minute with a well-worked counter-attack. Cameron broke free down the right flank, cut inside, and sent a cross to Corey Ashe on the left. Ashe slid the ball back toward the middle, where Hayden one-timed a shot over the arms of goalkeeper Josh Lambo.

With the win, Houston improved to 6-1-1 on the reserve season. The team's next game will also be a make-up game against FC Dallas and will take place Sept. 10 at Robertson Stadium.
