NEW YORK — The reality is, most of us never take the field. We live and work and watch from the sidelines. It gives us a good vantage point to cheer and to criticize, to marvel and to cringe.
Fitting, then, that our new collection of exclusive blogs is titled "The Sideline." This is where MLSsoccer.com's editors and writers will provide readers and fans with a regularly updated stream of cheering, criticizing, marveling and cringing.
On "The Sideline," you might find the latest hot-stove talk in Rumor Central. Or an instant-classic Borgian commentary. Or an inside look at the player's chatter around MLS, courtesy of Shawn Francis, a.k.a. the MLS Insider. Plus, a Spanish-language blog from the stars of el podcast Tiro Libre and eventually a French-language blog.
Featured blogs include:
- MLS Insider: the coolest cat around
- Rumor Central: the latest reports
- Smorgasborg: Simon Borg. Enough said.
- Tiro Libre: the latest from our Spanish-language podcast
- MLS Digital: the latest tech developments at MLSsoccer.com
The sideline of a game is never static. Coaches jump up and sit back down. They yell and whistle and rub their hands anxiously. Players go warm up. The fourth referee does his thing.
Neither will "The Sideline" be static. We fully expect it to evolve in unexpected ways. In fact, we're looking forward to that. And we hope you will help us evolve it. So give us feedback — good or bad — in the comment section of any post. Because, as we said, the sideline is where we all are together.
