Sporting KC add Argentine defender Emiliano Amor on loan

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Loan

Sporting Kansas City have added center back Emiliano Amor for the 2018 season, announcing on Thursday they have acquired the Argentine on loan for one year from Velez Sarsfield, with an option to buy at the end of the year.

The 22-year-old has spent his entire professional career to date with Velez, after coming through the youth ranks there. The Buenos Aires native made his first-team debut in 2014, making over 50 appearances for the Argentine Primera club.

“Emiliano is a young defender we have watched closely, and his arrival gives us another valuable piece along the backline,” Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes said in a team statement. “We are excited for him to join the club for preseason in Arizona.”

Sporting open the 2018 MLS regular season on March 4 at home against New York City FC (7:30 pm ET | FS1).
