HOW ACQUIRED: No. 1 pick in 2015 MLS SuperDraft
Larin took MLS by storm with a historic rookie season in 2015, setting an all-time record for a rookie with 17 goals and proving he can score in a variety of ways. He parlayed those performances into a regular role with the Canadian national team. Larin found the back of the net in his first league start on April 12, 2015 in Portland, and proceeded to sprinkle in another five goals over his following 10 appearances. Larin then went on a few binges toward the end of the season with four multi-goal games (10 of his 17 goals came in those matches). Those matches included two hat tricks -- both coming in NY at Red Bull Arena and Yankee Stadium.
INTERNATIONAL: Larin's performances in college earned him a full international debut for Canada in a friendly against Bulgaria on May 23, 2014. He has featured for the Canadians at the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup and in 2018 World Cup qualifying, but he has 15 caps and four goals entering the 2015 MLS season.
COLLEGE: Starred in his two seasons at the University of Connecticut (14 goals as a freshman, nine as a sophomore) before leaving to sign a Generation adidas contract with MLS. His 14 goals as a freshman ranked sixth in the nation.
OUTSIDE MLS: He has played for Ontario-based club Sigma FC from 2007 through 2014. Larin also led his St. Edmund Campion High School to three OFSAA championships, finishing tops on the team in goals for the final three seasons.
