American Exports Preview: Dempsey magic vs. Man Utd?

AMSTERDAM – The weekend menu for Americans playing in Europe will offer up potential debuts and key clashes, including Clint Dempsey's shot at netting consecutive winners against mighty Manchester United (all times listed in ET).

Clint Dempsey, Brad Friedel – Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United (Sunday, 11 am on Fox Soccer) If Deuce can match his Old Trafford heroics with another game-winner, Spurs can claim their first league sweep of the United since 1974. A victory would also tie the all-time series at White Hart Lane.

Friedel started the November win by Tottenham, but should remain a spectator for this one. The Red Devils will arrive having gone 9-0-1 in their last 10 EPL contests to build a seven-point league lead.

Michael Bradley – AS Roma vs. Inter Milan (Sunday, 2:45 pm on RAI)
A quirk of the domestic schedules sees Roma start a two-game homestand with Inter in league action; they'll kick off a Coppa Italia quarterfinal tie at Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday. Fresh off a key role in the Giallorossi's midweek winner, Bradley is expected to start his 15th straight Serie A game for the hosts. Roma won both 2012 clashes by a combined 7-1 tally and have not lost to Inter in the last four meetings.

Michael Parkhurst – Augsburg at Fortuna Düsseldorf (Sunday, 11:30 am on GolTV)
Both sides have long injury lists, with Augsburg skipper and right back Paul Verhaegh among those who will miss out. As such, Parkhurst will hope for the chance to make his club debut as the visitors start the second half by trying to claw their way toward the safety zone. The Bavarian side are winless in the last 10 Bundesliga matches, as well as in their previous nine on the road.

Sacha Kljestan – Anderlecht vs. Zulte Waregem (Sunday, noon)
In a game that could feature the debut of loan man Andy Najar, Kljestan will take his usual place in midfield as the champs try to fluff their eight-point tabletop cushion against the second-place visitors. Anderlecht have won 10 in a row in Jupiler League play, while their Sunday guests are unbeaten in 11. The hosts will want to keep a good eye on Mbaye Leye, who has six career goals against them and four in his last six games.

Maurice Edu – Bursaspor vs. Kayserispor (Sunday, noon)
The freshly signed loan midfielder is aiming to make his first club start of the season as the Green Crocodiles try to stick their head into the European frame. Bursaspor have returned from the winter break with consecutive cup defeats, but they are unbeaten in the last seven league contest. They have also won four straight shutout victories on visits from Kayserispor, who have not scored at Bursa Atatürk Stadium in 439 minutes.
