American Exports: Muscle tear sidelines Chandler temporarily

AMSTERDAM — FC Nürnberg right-sider Timothy Chandler is hoping to be back in training on Monday after suffering a small muscle tear during the team's recent midseason training camp in Turkey.

The US international was already set to miss the club’s first match following the Bundesliga winter break tomorrow against Hertha Berlin due to a suspension.

"He got this injury at training camp in Belek and possibly will be back next week in training," FCN press officer Katharina Wildermuth told MLSsoccer.com.

Chandler has notched a goal and two assists in 19 games across all competitions this term, with all but two of his starts coming at right back. FC Nürnberg stand 15th in the German top flight at the midway point of the season, two points above the relegation zone.
