Tigres Greenville win '09 Copa Coors Light

With a 1-0 win over San Nicolas, Tigres Greenville claimed the 2009 Copa Coors Light crown and $4,000 cash prize last weekend at Pizza Hut Park.

The 64-team tournament saw 52 games during two weekends of soccer with the top four teams earning prize money. San Nicolas picked up $3,000 as the second place squad, while Perla FC from the Azteca Dallas Soccer League took home third place with a 4-2 win in penalty kicks over Deportivo Nuevo Leon from the Inter-clubes League. Perla FC picked up $2,000 with the win, while Deportivo Nuevo Leon earned a $1,000 prize.

"On behalf of Coors Light and FC Dallas, I would like to personally thank all of our Hispanic League presidents, the team representatives and the more than 1,000 players who participated in this event," said Eduardo Carvacho, director of Hispanic sales and marketing for FC Dallas. "It was a spectacular event with great football. The cash prizes are going to help these teams have a better holiday season.
