De Rosario expects to train Friday

Dwayne De Rosario expects to train on Friday after resting a tight hamstring during the first three days of the week. The four-time MLS Cup winner was substituted late in the game against FC Dallas on Saturday at BMO Field.

"I just felt my hamstring tighten up towards the end of the game," said De Rosario. "I'm not sure why it happened but when it's windy the ball tends to run and you have to stretch more to get it. It could also have been the cold weather. It's just one of those things."

De Rosario is looking to step-up his training on Friday ahead of the rematch at FC Dallas on Sunday (kick off 7:00 p.m. live on GolTV). "I've not been running so far this week but I have been training and doing other work inside with the physiotherapists," he said. "The main thing is to rest my body and come Friday I will try it out and see how it is."

"I will take it day by day and it is still too early to say if I expect to be fit for the match because I need to train at a high pace and intensity to see how I feel. If it's good on Friday then I will try it again the day before the game and hopefully it will be fine and I will be ready for Sunday."

De Rosario scored his first goal for Toronto in the 1-1 tie against Dallas after joining the Reds from Houston Dynamo in December. "I'm glad that I got my first goal for the club in front of the home fans but I was disappointed with the result. I think we let ourselves down by letting them score a late goal. We need to fix that this week. Playing Dallas again gives us the advantage of knowing exactly what they will bring to the table and I don't think we have shown them our full potential yet."
