Chivas USA's Jorge Flores sidelined with ankle injury

CARSON, Calif. -- Chivas USA midfielder Jorge Flores suffered a sprained right ankle during training on Monday, and is day-to-day as he recovers from the injury. Flores will likely miss Thursday night's match between Chivas USA and the Galaxy, and will not travel to Laredo, Tex., for Friday night's United States Under-20 National Team match against the Mexican U-20 National Team.

For Chivas USA this season, Flores has played in six matches (starting three), scoring three goals. Born in Anaheim, Calif., Flores has been with the U.S. U-20's for several tournaments and training camps, and has played in more games with the U.S. U-20 National Team this year than any other player.

Chivas USA will battle the Los Angeles Galaxy in a Super Clásico match for first place in the Western Conference this Thursday night at 8:00 p.m., to be broadcast live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. The Red-and-White continue an important week against reigning CONCACAF and SuperLiga champions Pachuca in the group stage of the 2008 SuperLiga.
