World Cup: USMNT midfielder Michael Bradley ranks No. 1 in ground covered through three games

Those who follow the US national team know just how important midfielder Michael Bradley is to what happens on the field.

Of the many numbers that illustrate that, perhaps few are more emphatic than FIFA’s statistic of ground covered. Bradley ranks No. 1 of all the players in the World Cup with 38 kilometers covered in the USMNT’s three games so far in the tournament (that’s 23.6 miles for the metric challenged among us).

Chile’s Marcelo Diaz comes in at No. 2 (36.7) and Russia’s Victor Fayzulin (35.8) is third.

Some other interesting numbers provided are Bradley’s distance covered in possession (12.2), where he ranks 24th, and top speed (28.3 kilometers per hour).

Outside back Fabian Johnson ranks fourth in top speed at 33 kilometers per hour.
