What is wrong with this man?
Uruguay went up 1-0 moments later after scoring off a corner, then held out to advance to the Round of 16 at the Azzuri's expense.
Here is what appears to be proof that Suarez did, indeed, bite Chiellini, from the official match photographs:
So what comes next for Suárez? Surely there are FIFA sanctions heading his way, which could severely harm Uruguay in the knockout rounds. According to The Associated Press, the Liverpool man could face a ban that lasts as long as two years, according to FIFA's disciplinary rules.
The next step is the official report from match official Marco Rodriguez, then consulting the video evidence available of the incident.
Suárez served a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a Premier League game in April of last year, as documented above. Then there was also the eight-match ban and fine for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra in 2011. Then his one-match ban for giving Fulham fans the one-finger salute a few months later.
You'd think the man would've learned his lesson.
