World Cup: South Korea manager Hong Myung-Bo names 23-man roster for Brazil 2014

South Korea manager Hong Myung-Bo, a former defender for the LA Galaxy in MLS, announced a 23-man roster for the 2014 World Cup, where his team will play in Group H.

In the second round, the top two teams in Group H cross over to face the best two teams from Group G, which features the US national team.

The South Korean squad features only six players from the domestic K-League and nine players based in Europe, including 28-year-old Arsenal striker Park Chu-Young, who has seen little action with the Gunners. Park is one of four players who ply their trade in England.

Hong's entire group is 29 years old or younger except for defender Kwak Tae-Hwi, a 32-year-old who plays in Saudi Arabia. There are also a total of five holdovers from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Six of the players were in the squad that lost 2-0 to the United States in a February exhibition at StubHub Center.

South Korea will make a training camp stop in Miami, where they will face Ghana on June 10 in a tune-up match before heading to Brazil for Group H action against Russia, Algeria and Belgium.
