Toronto FC goalkeeper Júlio César took the first step toward becoming the first active MLS player to hoist the World Cup trophy this summer on Wednesday when, as expected, Brazil's No. 1 backstop was named to his country's 23-man roster just weeks before Brazil hosts the world's biggest sporting event.

The squad managed by Luiz Felipe Scolari will feature many of the world's most popular soccer stars, including Neymar, Hulk, Ramires and Oscar. Among the big-name snubs were AC Milan's Robinho and Kaká, Alexandre Pato from São Paulo and dynamic PSG midfielder Lucas Moura.
