Paris Saint-Germain are upping the ante this summer.

Reports have AC Milan confirming that they have accepted PSG's $80 million bid for Serie A leading scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic and central defender Thiago Silva.

Paris Saint-Germain are scheduled to play two matches in the upcoming 2012 Herbalife World Football Challenge: July 22 vs. Chelsea in New York City and on July 28 vs. D.C. United at RFK Stadium. AC Milan face Chelsea in Miami (July 28) and Real Madrid in New York (Aug. 8).

Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport quotes AC Milan head honcho Silvio Berlusconi, who apparently green-lighted the moves. The double transaction is valued at roughly $183 million between the transfer fee and money saved on wages. However, Ibrahimovic is reportedly still in the process of agreeing personal terms.

The Qatari owners of Paris Saint-Germain have already plucked Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli to join playmakers Javier Pastore and Jeremy Menez, who also played in Italy before arriving in Paris.

The connections between PSG and AC Milan run deep with former AC Milan managers Leonardo and Carlo Ancelotti running the show at the French club as sporting director and head coach. PSG and AC Milan will both feature in this year's UEFA Champions League after finishing second in Ligue 1 and Serie A, respectively.
