4 seconds: Mineros forward Gustavo Ramirez scores fastest goal in Mexican history | SIDELINE

Mineros de Zacatecas and Necaxa kicked off their match in the Mexican 2nd division on Friday at 8:30 pm, and four seconds later -- yes, 4 seconds! -- Mineros forward Gustavo Ramirez had scored what is reportedly the fastest goal in Mexican soccer history.

Basically, with the third touch of the game, Ramirez -- a 24-year-old Paraguayan forward who has bounced around the Mexican lower divisions for several years -- fired a rocket from midfield that beat goalkeeper Roberto Salcedo into the upper 90. It was Ramirez's first goal for Mineros, and proved to be the winner, as the hosts went on to a 2-0 victory on the day.

Mineros now sit in second place the Ascenso MX standings early in the 2014-15 Apertura season.
