If the conclusion of the 2014 World Cup may have caused anyone to forget about the game's still rightful place as the most popular — and lucrative — sport around the world, let your memory now be refreshed.

Forbes released on Wednesday its 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams ranking, and — surprise, surprise — at the top of the list was a soccer super-club from Europe: Real Madrid, who retain the top spot for a second straight year.

Not only holding down the top spot, soccer also claimed the second (Barcelona), third (Manchester United) and seventh (MLS All-Star Game opponents Bayern Munich) places inside the list's top 10.

Also representing soccer on the list were Arsenal (No. 16), Chelsea (No. 48), Manchester City (No. 49) and AC Milan (No. 50).

Of the eight soccer clubs to make the list, all but Chelsea will set foot on North American soil over the coming weeks for a series of summer friendlies against one another and/or various MLS teams.
