Hillsborough documentary kicks off ESPN's 30 for 30 soccer series on Tuesday night

It's one of the most horrific tragedies the soccer world has ever seen.

On April 15, 1989 at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, England, 96 people lost their lives at an FA Cup semifinal between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. That was 25 years ago and yet the investigation into what happened continues today.

And on Tuesday night, ESPN will air the "definitive account" of the disaster when it kicks off its 30 for 30 soccer film series with "Hillsborough" (8 pm ET, ESPN). For a brief primer before Tuesday's documentary, catch the video report above by NBC Sports Network's Gary Lineker (WATCH IT HERE).
