Major League Soccer announced on Thursday that the contract of FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez has been mutually terminated. The player has been removed from the FC Dallas roster.

MLS announced in June that it was suspending Gonzalez following a report to the Frisco Police Department alleging incidents of domestic abuse. The league said it was conducting an independent investigation into the matter and would remain in close communication with FC Dallas, local law enforcement and the MLS Players Association throughout the process.

Gonzalez, 25, signed with FC Dallas as a Homegrown player in 2013 and made 101 regular-season appearances for the club. He was part of the Dallas team that won the Supporters' Shield and U.S. Open Cup in 2016 and was named to the US squad for the 2017 Gold Cup.
