D.C. United couldn’t host New York City FC on Friday night with MLS suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but perhaps it wouldn’t have been a merry occasion for the home side at Audi Field.

The clubs’ EA FIFA representatives instead played a two-legged affair, and NYCFC earned the 6-2 victory on aggregate. Chris “didychrislito” Holly got the best of Mohamed “KingCJ0” Alioune Diop, and an archived Twitch stream of the games can be found below.

The first leg seemed destined for a draw after an Ola Kamara brace clawed D.C. back into contention, but then NYCFC pulled away late. Ismael Tajouri-Shradi scored in the 86th minute before Valentin Castellanos scored in stoppage time, sealing the 4-2 result.

Tajouri-Shradi was the star of the first leg, as he finished with two goals and an assist.

Carrying momentum into the second leg, NYCFC twice scored in stoppage time to beat their Eastern Conference foe, 2-0. Maxi Moralez powered home a low, driven cross in the first half, and then Heber sealed all three points in the 91st minute.

The second leg also further tilted in NYCFC’s favor when D.C. center back Frederic Brillant was shown a straight red card in the 76th minute for hauling down Alexandru Mitrita on a breakaway.

Holly has proven to be quite the force in FIFA competition. He won the first-ever eChampions League last year and also competed in the the FIFA eWorld Cup last July.
