LAFC coach Bob Bradley on Wednesday revealed that forward Adama Diomande will miss competitive action after suffering a broken right foot in a preseason clash against New York City FC last Friday.

Bradley said the injury was a fourth metatarsal fracture. While he did not give a timetable for return, he suggested Diomande will remain a substantial part of LAFC's attack for the bulk of 2020.

"We'll miss him at the beginning of the season," Bradley said. "But we're confident that this is an injury that will heal in a strong way and he'll be back and ready to contribute."

LAFC are less than two weeks away from their competitive opener, when they travel to Mexico to face Club Leon on Feb. 18 in the first leg of a round-of-16 Concacaf Champions League series.

After the return leg at home the following week, LAFC open their MLS campaign by hosting Inter Miami on March 1 (5:30 pm ET | ESPN).
