Nashville SC see "significant" offer for forward Ake Loba rejected | Tom Bogert

Nashville SC had a "significant" transfer offer rejected for USM Porres 21-year-old forward Ake Loba, as the club were asking for a transfer fee in the region of $9-11 million, MLSsoccer.com has learned. Nashville view the deal as dead.

The club's interest was first reported by Media Tiempo last month. Victor Alvarez of ESPNFC reports that Loba is close to signing for Liga MX powerhouse CF Monterrey.

Loba, who Nashville pursued to be a Young Designated Player, was on loan with Liga MX's Queretaro FC last season where he had 11 goals and two assists across 41 league appearances, including a team-high six goals in 17 Apertura appearances. The Ivorian center forward can also be deployed as a winger.

He left his native Ivory Coast in 2018 to join Peruvian side USM Porres, where he had seven goals and four assists in 13 league appearances before heading to Liga MX on loan.

Nashville had the player on their radar before his breakout campaign with Queretaro. The club will move onto other targets. Their current group of forwards include Dom Badji, Daniel Rios, Abu Danladi, Cameron Lancaster and Alan Winn
