Diego Valeri - Portland Timbers - Implores fans to cheer

The Portland Timbers went 15 games, but could go no further without loss in league play, as they lost in the 16th match on Saturday, losing a Cascadia Cup clash 2-1 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Providence Park.

The 15-game unbeaten run tied a team record in their MLS era, accomplished in 2013. It also placed Top 10 all-time for unbeaten runs in MLS play in league history. The record is held by Columbus Crew SC's 19-game run between the 2004 and 2005 seasons, and FC Dallas' 19-game streak in 2010.
