In a move increasing the accessibility of their home venue, the New York Red Bulls announced on Saturday that they'll open a new, permanent sensory-friendly space at Red Bull Arena. Available free of charge during any match, it's designed to welcome and provide comfort for guests on the autism spectrum.

The team designed the room, which overlooks the pitch at midfield, in conjunction with the family services team from Autism Awareness. The room will feature dimmed lighting and lightly colored walls to offer a soothing effect, along with visual aids, fidget toys and other activities.

The room will also offer sensory sacks, like those given out by the team on Autism Awareness Night at RBA on Apr. 29. They include headphones and stress balls, among other items.

Families interested in gaining access the room for MLS matches can contact New York Red Bulls Guest Services.
