MLS teams commemorate Earth Day 2017

Minnesota United - Week of Service - 2017

Earth Day 2017 fell on a game day for many MLS clubs, but that didn't dampen the commemorations for the day dedicated to highlight environmental protection. Here's a selection of activities around the league, which has been participating in the MLS WORKS Greener Goals inititative.


San Jose


The San Jose Earthquakes planted trees at a local elementary school Saturday morning.

New York


New York City FC worked on preparing healthy food for local city dwellers.

Houston


The Houston Dynamo donated a "space garden" to a local school.

Minnesota


Minnesota United FC's mascot, PK the Loon, got in on the action during a park cleanup at Adrian State Park.



D.C.


Meanwhile, D.C. United participated in a park clean-up project.

Los Angeles


And the LA Galaxy planted trees in the community.
