BIGGEST MOVERS: Orlando City +4 spots | Montreal -5 spots

LAST WEEK: 1

HIGH: 1 | LOW: 3

Usually there's a post-CCL letdown, and to be fair Dallas weren't great in their 2-0 win. That's a descriptor literally any manager in the world would happily embrace, though. This continues to be the league's best team for a variety of reasons.

Latest result(s): Won vs. Minnesota, 2-0

2

LAST WEEK: 2

HIGH: 2 | LOW: 11

Few teams have been able to get wins on the road this season, but the Timbers got a big one traveling east on Saturday. It's clear Caleb Porter made the right move putting Darlington Nagbe on the left.

Latest result(s):  Won at Philadelphia, 3-1

3

LAST WEEK: 3

HIGH: 2 | LOW: 4

Is Jozy Altidore’s passing actually underrated if we end up raving about it every week? What a layoff to set Sebastian Giovinco up for his first goal of 2017. Still, no matter how entertaining, that’s a game the Reds should have won. Two points dropped.

Latest result(s): Drew vs. Atlanta, 2-2

4

LAST WEEK: 7

HIGH: 4 | LOW: 17

Yet another impressive road showing from a team that already has a clearly defined identity just five matches into its existence. Atlanta United are intimidated by no one.

Latest result(s): Drew at Toronto, 2-2

5

LAST WEEK: 5

HIGH: 1 | LOW: 6

They couldn't hang on for the win, but a road draw is never a bad result. The Sounders will look to really get cooking on Friday, when they'll travel to Vancouver for the first Cascadia Cup match of the year.

Latest result(s): Drew at San Jose, 1-1

6

LAST WEEK: 4

HIGH: 4 | LOW: 8

Well, it wasn't 4-0 in their favor this go-round, but it was on the road, and NYC was merely beaten, not out-classed. Not much damage done.

Latest result(s): Lost at D.C. United, 2-1

7

LAST WEEK: 9

HIGH: 7 | LOW: 9

For just the second game this year, SKC actually scored some goals on Sunday, with Dom Dwyer and Gerso both getting their first of the season in a comfortable win over the Rapids. They did it without the injured Benny Feilhaber, too, a positive sign for a team that had been anemic in the attack.

Latest result(s): Won vs. Colorado, 3-1

8

LAST WEEK: 12

HIGH: 8 | LOW: 18

The diamond is back, and it brought Jason Kreis and Orlando another win this weekend. The Lions are now a perfect 3-0-0 at Orlando City Stadium, and the biggest risers in this week's Power Rankings.

Latest result(s): Won vs. NY Red Bulls, 1-0

9

LAST WEEK: 6

HIGH: 6 | LOW: 19

If the Dynamo can’t get out on the counter, how will they score goals? If they can’t defend effectively, how will they win games when they can’t score goals? Look for other teams to replicate the Revs’ approach. Wilmer Cabrera and Co. will have to adapt at some point.

Latest result(s): Lost at New England, 2-0

10

LAST WEEK: 8

HIGH: 8 | LOW: 19

The three-game winning streak is over, but Crew SC still have plenty of punch. A home win against Toronto FC this weekend would see them rise right back up the P-Ranks.

Latest result(s): Lost at Chicago, 1-0

11

LAST WEEK: 14

HIGH: 11 | LOW: 20

The stats say that the Revs have been one of the best teams in the league so far. Visiting the Fire this weekend should help us understand if that's actually true.

Latest result(s): Won vs. Houston, 2-0

12

LAST WEEK: 15

HIGH: 12 | LOW: 21

Schweinsteiger draws the headlines, but it was Dax McCarty's killer through ball that made the difference over the weekend. After two years in the cellar, Chicago are starting to look like a real playoff contender.

Latest result(s): Won vs. Columbus, 1-0

13

LAST WEEK: 10

HIGH: 3 | LOW: 13

RBNY have experienced lengthy winless stretches in seasons past and they’ve always found a way to bounce back and prove the doubters wrong. Three straight home games could be just what the doctor ordered to end their four-match rut.

Latest result(s): Lost at Orlando, 1-0

14

LAST WEEK: 11

HIGH: 6 | LOW: 14

The Rapids missed Sam Cronin and Marc Burch in a big way on Sunday night. If dealing that duo is going to work, Nana Boateng needs to step up, and that attacking signing needs to come through.

Latest result(s): Lost at Sporting KC, 3-1

15

LAST WEEK: 16

HIGH: 11 | LOW: 21

The Quakes have to love Wondo's late equalizer, but they won't be thrilled with the 1-1 draw given their upcoming schedule. They've got Dallas visiting on Friday, then three in a row on the road. Not fun.

Latest result(s): Drew vs. Seattle, 1-1

16

LAST WEEK: 18

HIGH: 7 | LOW: 20

BennyBall is back, and so are the points. This'll do for now, but the Power Rankings Politburo misses last autumn's all-attack bunch.

Latest result(s): Won vs. NYCFC, 2-1

17

LAST WEEK: 19

HIGH: 5 | LOW: 19

Jermaine Jones, everybody! When healthy, that dude is in the middle of every mix. The straw stirring the drink. The spark setting the fire. The ... you get it.

Latest result(s): Won vs. Montreal, 2-0

18

LAST WEEK: 13

HIGH: 8 | LOW: 18

Not the start they intended, but Nacho's been out and they've tied their only home match through five games. More Stade Saputo, more Montreal ... Impact. Ha!

Latest result(s): Lost at LA Galaxy, 2-0

19

LAST WEEK: 22

HIGH: 11 | LOW: 22

Emblematic of a new era, or a one-off in what we'll charitably term "unusual" conditions? RSL fans will obviously hope for the former, but we're reserving our right to reserve judgement until we can get a few more data points.

Latest result(s): Won vs. Vancouver, 3-0

20

LAST WEEK: 17

HIGH: 17 | LOW: 21

The ‘Caps can’t catch a break so far this year (add Saturday's snow to the list and the fact they were facing Petke on his RSL debut), but they can quickly change the narrative of their sputtering start with two Cascadia Cup matches in consecutive weeks.

Latest result(s): Lost at Real Salt Lake, 3-0

21

LAST WEEK: 21

HIGH: 21 | LOW: 22

FC Dallas are a Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup favorite. Minnesota are … not. The Loons are going to lose an awful lot of road games this season. Nobody expected them to get a result at Toyota Stadium, and they didn’t. On to the next one.

Latest result(s): Lost at Dallas, 2-0

22

LAST WEEK: 20

HIGH: 12 | LOW: 22

There's not much happiness in Doopland right now, with few players performing at the level they were at last season.

Latest result(s): Lost vs. Portland, 3-1
