Seattle Sounders 2016 MLS Cup March: crowdsurfing, dance parties, and more

Herculez Gomez crowdsurfing at Sounders March, Dec. 13, 2016

There's no doubt Seattle loves their Sounders. Yesterday afternoon -- a work/school day! -- tens of thousands crammed downtown for a victory parade and rally ending near the iconic Space Needle. The Sounders, as we all know, are a colorful bunch who like to go big. So it's really best to try to take in the top visuals from the massive moving party.

First off, goalkeeper Stefan Frei showed up with some new ink -- a Cup championship star on the very hand that made The Save.

Then, well, Frei and the team showed up -- but so did thousands and thousands of fans. You've got to see photos to appreciate the scale of the crowd.

So it's no wonder that Herculez Gomez found it a convenient venue to crowd-surf.

Roman Torres, meanwhile, tried to get Jordan Morris to join him in one of his trademark breakout dance parties.

And one of the most memorable moments? Brian Schmetzer continued his legacy of being one of the most humble, friendly MLS coaches ever. At one point, he stepped down off his parade trolley, and asked Emerald City Supporters if he could, instead, march with them. Of course they were stoked to welcome him along.

And of course, he capped it all off by freely doling out hugs.
