Toronto FC, Seattle Sounders reveal starting lineups for MLS Cup

Toronto FC and the Seattle Sounders have both made one change to their starting lineups for MLS Cup.


Toronto FC


TFC will lineup in a 3-5-2 formation, with Jonathan Osorio getting the nod in midfield ahead of Will Johnson, who started the second leg of Toronto’s Eastern Conference Championship series against Montreal. Osorio had started all four of TFC’s playoff matches prior to Leg 2 against Montreal.


Star forwards Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco will lead the line for TFC, while US national team captain Michael Bradley will look to control things in the middle.

Goalkeeper: Clint Irwin
Defenders: Eriq Zavaleta, Drew Moor, Nick Hagglund
Midfielders: Steven Beitashour, Michael Bradley (C), Armando Cooper, Jonathan Osorio, Justin Morrow
Forwards: Sebastian Giovinco, Jozy Altidore


Bench: Alex Bono (GK), Mark Bloom, Benoit Cheyrou, Tsubasa Endoh, Will Johnson, Tosaint Ricketts, Josh Williams


Seattle Sounders


Seattle will setup in a 4-2-3-1. They also made one change to the lineup that started Leg 2 of their Western Conference Championship series against Colorado. Midfielder Erik Friberg is back in the XI after missing the second leg against the Rapids due to injury, taking the place of Andreas Ivanschitz.


MLS Rookie of the Year Jordan Morris and Uruguayan playmaker Nicolas Lodeiro headline the attack for Seattle, who will lean on holding midfielder Ozzie Alonso and center backs Chad Marshall and Roman Torres in defense.
