Given that Jimi Hendrix was born there, you could say Seattle invented soaring rock versions of "The Star-Spangled Banner."
On Tuesday night, before the Sounders' match against Colorado in the first leg of the Western Conference Championships (10 pm ET; FS1, TSN1, TSN3, RDS2), Pearl Jam's Mike McCready – who lit up CenturyLink Field with an iconic anthem before a playoff game two years ago – will be the man of the hour once again.
We'd say the Sounders couldn't have found a better man. There's no word, though, on whether or not McCready will be wearing corduroy.
