Steven Gerrard back in Liverpool getting treated for hamstring, Galaxy say

Steven Gerrard - LA Galaxy - March 6, 2016

LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard is in Liverpool getting treatment for a hamstring injury and will be gone for a week, Galaxy coach Bruce Arena told LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano Thursday. Gerrard will miss this Sunday's match between the Galaxy and the Houston Dynamo (5 p.m. ET, MLS LIVE).

Gerrard, the former captain of Liverpool, visited his former club at training Thursday in advance of their Monday night matchup against rivals Manchester United. The 36-year-old midfielder has struggled with injuries in 2016, and has played in 21 of the Galaxy's 32 games this season, scoring three goals, with 11 assists.

Arena also told Serrano on Thursday that forward Robbie Keane, who has been hampered by muscle strains, worked out inside on Thursday and that his status for Sunday's match against the Houston Dynamo "remains to be seen."

The 36-year-old Galaxy captain has been limited to 17 matches this season, with 10 goals and two assists.
