Sigi Schmid will be back on our screens for the stretch run, as the former Seattle Sounders coach will serve as a studio analyst for ESPN’s MLS doubleheader on Sunday before taking part in MLSsoccer.com’s live Decision Day show on Oct. 23.

Matt Pentz of The Seattle Timesfirstreported that Schmid would serve as an ESPN analyst on Wednesday.

“It keeps me around the league and keeps me busy,” Schmid told Pentz of his broadcast assignments. “Those are two good things.”

According to Pentz, Schmid stressed that the broadcasting opportunities are only a brief stopgap as he continues his search for another coaching job. Schmid, who parted ways with the Sounders in July, has done some TV work in the past, serving as an analyst for FOX between his stints coaching LA and Columbus.

Toronto FC and Montreal Impact will kick off Sunday’s ESPN doubleheader at Stade Saputo (3 pm ET; ESPN in the US, TSN2, RDS in Canada) before the Portland Timbers host the Colorado Rapids in the network’s night bill (5 pm ET; ESPN in the US, MLS LIVE in Canada).
