New York City FC fell to Liga MX side Club Necaxa in a friendly on Friday night, falling 2-1 in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Kyle Parker, one of four Wilmington Hammerheads players who traveled with squad, scored NYCFC's lone goal. Parker was played into the box in the 83rd minute by Diego Martinez and put his shot off the far post and into the net.

Jesus Isijara and Rodrigo Prieto provided the goals for Club Necaxa, who currently sit in eighth place in the Mexican top flight.

NYCFC started a mix of stars and players who haven't seen much playing time this season, including Mix Diskerud, who hasn't seen the field since June 2.

It was a raucous crowd in Aguascalientes as the serenaded David Villa as he left the pitch and chanted Andrea Pirlo's name as he was sauntering around the field.

NYCFC will now return home to prepare for their October 16 match at D.C. United (3 pm ET; MLS LIVE).
