Toronto FC have already clinched a playoff berth but are now looking to win the Eastern Conference and, perhaps, challenge FC Dallas for the Supporters' Shield. As it stands now, Toronto are tied with the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC for points atop the East, but all three teams are five points back of FC Dallas and level with the Colorado Rapids and the LA Galaxy in the Shield race.

Orlando, meanwhile, are fighting for their playoff lives after three straight losses saw them tumble beneath the red line, three points behind sixth-place D.C. United and two points back of New England.

  • Toronto FC extended their undefeated streak to three games with a second consecutive draw, reaching a 1-1 result with Philadelphia Union on Saturday afternoon at BMO Field. Justin Morrow scored his fourth goal of the season; he has a goal and/or an assist now in three consecutive games.
  • Orlando City SC saw their losing slide extended to three games in a 4-1 loss to D.C. United on Saturday evening at RFK Stadium. City have conceded four goals in each of the three losses.
  • The teams are meeting for the third time this season, each winning once with late goals at Camping World Stadium. Jozy Altidore scored the game-winner in the 86th minute to give Toronto FC a 2-1 road win on Aug. 24; Kaká converted a penalty kick in the 100th minute – matching the latest goal scored in a regulation match in MLS history – as Orlando City took a 3-2 win June 25.
  • The first meeting victory was Orlando City’s first in the all-time series. Toronto FC won all three meetings between the clubs in Orlando City’s inaugural season in MLS, outscoring OCSC 11-1. TFC won both meetings at BMO Field, three weeks apart, a 4-1 win Aug. 5 and a 5-0 win Aug. 22, also winning 2-0 in Orlando on April 26.
