Jordan Morris hit twice to run his rookie strike total to 12 as the Seattle Sounders kept their playoff hopes alive with a 4-2 win at the LA Galaxy on Sunday.

Staying alive

Columbus Crew SC are also still hanging in there thanks to a 2-0 triumph over the New England Revolution on Sunday. Forward Ola Kamara scored twice to outshine the man he replaced, Revs striker Kei Kamara.

Another Impact blow

Montreal's September swoon continued with a 1-0 defeat away to the Red Bulls, who got the winning goal from their summer "big addition" to extend their unbeaten run to 13 games.

Club in crisis

After watching his charges fall to a 4-1 loss at D.C. United, Orlando City boss Jason Kreis opined that his side is still working on improving the leadership within the squad.

Powered by a Goal of the Year contender from Alejandro Bedoya -- his first MLS goal -- the Philadelphia Union battled hosts Toronto FC to a 1-1 draw. T FC star Sebastian Giovinco did not return this weekend, as hoped, but the Reds expect him back in training on Monday

Triple rally

Vancouver made headlines by inserting 15-year-old Alphonso Davies into their line-up on Saturday, making him the second-youngest player to ever start an MLS match. The real story, however, was how the Caps fought back three times to earn a 3-3 draw with visiting Colorado.

Western stalemate

While Real Salt Lake were somewhat satisfied after a scoreless draw with Supporters Shield leaders FC Dallas, they also realize that their form must improve with the postseason fast approaching.

Insult & injury for SJ

Not only did the Quakes suffer a late 2-1 defeat against visitors Sporting KC on Saturday night, but they also lost forward Quincy Amarikwa to what may be a serious knee injury.

Tricked out in Houston

Mauro Manotas bagged a hat trick to lead Houston to a 3-1 victory over Portland on Saturday. After the loss, the Timbers admitted they let their guard down against the Western Conference cellar-dwellers.

Villa's little helper

After Khiry Shelton notched three assists in a big Friday win, Armchair Analyst Matt Doyle noted that the New Yotk City FC winger is enjoying a historic season. What's more, he writes in his weekend review that NYCFC boss Patrick Vieira is excelling because he's growing the youngsters like Shelton.
