USA's Johnson scores 'Gladbach equalizer; Carter-Vickers makes Spurs debut

Fabian Johnson - American Exports - Borussia Monchengladbach

There was plenty of midweek domestic action in Europe, and two US internationals had notable outings.

Perhaps highlighting the Americans abroad is midfielder/defender Fabian Johnson, who scored the late equalizer for Borussia Monchengladbach in their 1-1 Bundesliga draw with RB Leipzig. Gladbach's opponents, in their first top-flight season, have been the surprise outfit of the division so far this season, and Wednesday's draw puts Borussia Monchengladbach in 8th place in the Bundesliga.

Elsewhere, US youth international Cameron Carter-Vickers made his first team competitive debut for Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday in their 5-0 EFL Cup win over Gillingham. The 18-year-old started and played the full 90 in central defense for Spurs, who will face Liverpool in the next round of the cup competition.
