A crucial contest in the Eastern Conference playoff chase is ahead at midweek when the MontrƩal Impact entertain D.C. United on Wednesday evening at Stade Saputo. The Impact come into the match off back-to-back losses, the last a 3-0 home defeat by the Chicago Fire on Saturday, leaving them in fifth place in the conference. They are five points ahead of United, who completed a four-game homestand undefeated, coming back for a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls on Sunday afternoon at RFK Stadium, still sitting right on the red line in a tie for sixth place in the East.

  • The Impact suffered their second consecutive defeat ā€“ their first back-to-back losses since March 19-April 2 ā€“ following their 3-0 loss to the Chicago Fire on Saturday evening at Stade Saputo.
  • United extended their current undefeated run to four matches ā€“ all at RFK Stadium ā€“ with a third draw in that time, coming back for a 2-2 result with the New York Red Bulls on Sunday afternoon.
